North Charleston police investigating Tanger Outlet shoplifting incident, injury to officer
Update: North Charleston SC June 16 2017 Jamarv Hammond appeared in bond court Sunday morning where bonds were set for a multitude of charges.
For his most recent arrest in the Tanger Outlet area, Hammond was issued a $10,000 bond for Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, a $50,000 bond for Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon, another $10,000 bond for Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm, and a pair of $5,000 bonds for Possession of MDMA and Marijuana.
Two additional bonds were issued for an incident that occurred on May 6th. $10,000 for a separate Failure to Stop for Blue Lights charge and $15,000 for Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
Lastly, a $10,000 bond was issued for a Failure to Return Rent Property charge from February of this year.
Original Story: North Charleston police officers are investigating a shoplifting incident that occurred at Tanger Outlet Saturday afternoon.
Police say a man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Jamarv Hammond, 35, was arrested and charged with Failure to Return Rent Property, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Breach of Peace, Reckless Driving, Leaving Scene of Accident causing Personal Injury, Shoplifting, Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm, Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon, and Simple Possession of Marijuana.
Shortly before 3 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting call at the Sun Glass Hut at Tanger Outlet.
An officer approaching the suspect’s vehicle was struck and knocked to the ground as the vehicle driver left the area, police say.
Officers followed the vehicle onto Interstate 26 and the driver exited at Remount Road.
The driver exited the vehicle and tossed a handgun on top of a nearby business, police say.
The driver, a man, and a female passenger were both arrested. The man is being charged with possession of a firearm and shoplifting. The female is being charged with shoplifting.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident concerning the officer being struck by the suspect.
