1 Dallas police officer killed, another officer and civilian shot at Home Depot store

DALLAS, TX April 25 2018
Two Dallas police officers and a civilian, possibly a Home Depot loss prevention agent have been shot during a confrontation with a man who had outstanding arrest warrants according to local news reports.
Police responded to the Home Depot located in the 11600 block of Forest Central Drive in Dallas to assist store security with a possible shoplifting incident.
WFAA-TV reported that the shooting happened Tuesday afternoon.
They said that a police spokesperson had confirmed that it was a major incident and the scene was active.
One witness said that one of the police officers was shot in the back of the head and looked lifeless.
A female police officer was shot in the face.
The suspect then fled the store before arrival of additional police officers.
Dallas SWAT and Canine Units are searching a creek bed nearby for the suspect.
The store was evacuated and workers were sent home for the day.
Update: Two on-duty police officers were shot when the officers responded to assist an off-duty officer and a civilian loss prevention agent take a man into custody.
The two responding officers arrived, and a suspect “produced a hand gun and fire shots striking” the two officers and the civilian loss-prevention officer.
The two wounded Dallas officers were called to the Home Depot at U.S. 75 and Forest Lane about 4 p.m., when an off-duty Dallas police officer working at the store was trying to arrest a suspect.
The male officer, 27, who was shot in the head, was being kept alive until his mother arrived at the hospital
The female officer, who was shot in the face, was in stable condition as is the civilian loss prevention officer.
