Officers found the victim shot in the head. The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he died, police said.
The man was a contracted security officer with Allied Universal Security working for the university. He was on-duty when he was shot at the Marble Hall Garden Apartments complex, which houses some Morgan State students. University officials told 11 News the victim was not a student.
Through the university, Allied Universal released a statement, saying: “Everyone at Allied Universal is saddened and absolutely devastated to learn a valued member of our team lost his life last night after being shot. Local Allied Universal leadership has reached out to the victim’s family to offer our condolences and financial support. Because this is an ongoing investigation, we respectfully request any other inquiries be directed to the Baltimore Police Department.”
