2 men to face trial in deadly shooting of security guard outside Allentown club
ALLENTOWN, Pa. April 17, 2025-– Two homicide suspects are headed to trial in a shooting outside of an Allentown after-hours club.
David Rivera, 26, and Pedro Paulino, 35, were in Lehigh County court Thursday for a preliminary hearing, said the county district attorney’s office.
All charges, including homicide and three counts each of attempted murder and aggravated assault, were held for court and the men were ordered to face trial, the DA’s office said.
Rivera and Paulino are charged in the Feb. 2 shooting outside the BKK Lounge in Allentown.
Four people were shot when gunfire broke out just after 4 a.m. at 1500 Union Boulevard.
One of the victims, 32-year-old Ivan Diaz Jr., died of his injuries.
Authorities said a fight first broke out inside the BKK Lounge and security, including Diaz Jr., tried to de-escalate the situation and remove the involved parties.
As the fight moved outside into the parking lot, gunshots were fired.
The investigation showed the shooters, alleged to be Rivera and Paulino, retrieved handguns from the car they had arrived in.
After firing shots, they left in two separate vehicles. They were identified through distinctive clothing, tattoos and social media posts, police say.
Rivera was charged less than 12 hours after the shooting. Paulino was arrested days later, on Feb. 8.
They remain in Lehigh County Jail without bail.
