3 Houston security guards detained after fatal nightclub shooting

Houston police detained three security guards after they were involved in a fatal shooting and wounding of a second person.
Police said that one man is is dead and another was injured after a shooting involving patrons and security guards outside of a Houston club, police say.
The shooting was reported around 5:45 a.m. Monday in the 5700 block of S Gessner Road.
Police say they are speaking with the security guards and reviewing surveillance video to determine exactly what happened.
Based on preliminary information, police say there was some kind of altercation inside of the club that led to some patrons being ejected.
According to HPD, out in the parking lot, the patrons “engaged security.” Shots were fired.
The two patrons were shot. One died at the scene, and another was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police say three security guards were detained at the scene, and preliminarily, and t has been determined that two of them may have discharged their firearms. They were not injured.
According to HPD, officers recovered a gun at the scene, but it appears to be a replica firearm and doesn’t function.
The investigation into the shooting continues and detectives are trying to determine if this was a case of the security guards defending themselves,
