3 Teens Stabbed Outside Church Fair In Hawthorne
HAWTHORNE CA Sept 26 2017 Three teens were stabbed Saturday evening outside a church fair in Hawthorne.
A spokesperson for Hawthorne police told CBS2 a fight broke out around 8:30 p.m. just outside St. Joseph Catholic Church in the 11800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, where a fair was taking place.
One teen was found wounded just outside the fair, and a second was found at an AutoZone down the street. A third victim was found at a nearby Jack in the Box at Hawthorne Boulevard and Imperial Highway. Two of the victims were 13 and 14 years of age.
The teens were rushed to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. One victim underwent surgery. Their conditions were not confirmed as of Sunday morning.
No arrests have been made. Police said there were multiple suspects who were only described as Hispanic males.
The stabbings did not occur in the fair itself, Hawthorne police Sgt. Joel Ramero told CBS2. Ramero added that has security measures to keep visitors safe.
“There are metal detectors,” Ramero said. “There is security from the St. Joseph’s Church.”
