4 arrested after 2 fights break out at Henninger High School, police say
SYRACUSE, N.Y. April 25 2019 — Four people have been arrested after two fights broke out at Henninger High School just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Syracuse police.
Officers were called to Henninger High School at 1:51 p.m. for a report of a disturbance, according to Onondaga County 911 dispatch logs.
When police arrived, they broke up a fight between several people that stemmed from a Monday dispute, police said. It’s unclear what the dispute was over at this time, police said.
The fights happened outside the school but on school grounds, police said.
Officers arrested Shyquan Mills, a 17-year-old Henninger student and charged him with disorderly conduct, police said.
Officers also arrested two non-students. One, a 16-year-old, was issued an appearance ticket for criminal trespass and resisting arrest. The other, Raquan Shadreem, 20, was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, criminal trespass and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.
After breaking up the first fight, another fight broke out.
Police issued an appearance ticket to a 16-year-old student who was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon after the 16-year-old was found to have a “large knife,” police said.
Neither of the Syracuse Central School District students attended school Tuesday, a school district spokesman said.
