85 Year Old MS. Security Officer Executed On Duty

An 85 year old security officer was shot to death at an apartment complex just outside Jackson on Sunday night police said.
Sheriff deputies responded to the Canton Estates in Madison County at around 11:30 p.m.after receiving calls about gunshots.
Deputies said that the security officer died on Monday, June 15, from multiple gunshots.
According to Madison County Coroner Alex Breeland, the shooting was a homicide.
According to Madison County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Health Hall, 85-year-old George David Herrin of Richland was shot multiple times inside his vehicle. Hall said it appeared to be an execution style murder.
Herrin was pronounced dead at the hospital. His body has been sent to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Deputies are in the process of interviewing witnesses. They are also reviewing surveillance video.
