2 injured with pocketknife at downtown Sioux Falls bar
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. Aug 8 2018 A man is facing aggravated assault charges after swinging a knife at two people, including a security guard, at a bar in downtown Sioux Falls over the weekend.
Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said 33-year-old Edward Leon Brinkley was “causing problems” inside PAve.
While a security guard escorted him outside, Brinkley allegedly swung a pocketknife at the man, causing a small cut to his torso.
Clemens said Brinkley then took off running. Bystanders chased him down and officers arrested him for the first count of aggravated assault.
About 30 minutes later, a man with a deep stab wound showed up at a hospital. Clemens said Brinkley is suspected of causing that injury, and he was then charged with a second count of aggravated assault.
