Police: Teens’ plan for school shooting foiled by crime tip
PAWNEE, Okla. Aug 11 2018
Two teen boys were taken into custody and have since bonded out after a plot for a shooting massacre at an Oklahoma school was foiled, police said.
A relief to parents, including the police chief, officials say it was thanks to a news tip.
“As parents, everybody want to feel safe and know that the threat was investigated that it no longer exists,” Pawnee Police Chief Wesley Clymer told KOCO.
“It came through crime stoppers in OKC,” he said. “They then forwarded it to the sheriff’s office.”
“It scares me to death to think about something like that happening,” said a woman whose grandkids know the suspects.
“He just couldn’t believe that his friends would be involved, but you never know,” she said. “You really don’t.”
Officers are planning extra patrols for when school starts next week.
As for the investigation, court proceedings are next.
