Club security officer shot after fight breaks out at NC Music Factory
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -Aug 21 2018 Charlotte Mecklenburg police said that it was a wild and chaotic scene after a security officer was shot during a concert at the NC Music Factory.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police state that it all began when club security members from World Nightclub at the AvidXchange Music Factory got into a fight with the entourage of Atlanta-based rapper “Trouble” over an open container of alcohol.
When the security officer stopped that person, a confrontation broke out and shots were fired striking the security officer several times.
Police said after the shooting, which happened just before 2 a.m., additional fights broke out in the parking lot as officers responded to the area in force.
Dozens of people were handcuffed and police stopped several people from driving away.
The scene was so chaotic that dozens of officers were called to calm things down.
Police said they have been going over surveillance video from inside the club.
The security officer who was shot in the back was rushed to an area hospital in stable condition.
Police said no arrests have been made in the shooting but officers said they arrested two people at the club on unrelated charges.
