Police charge man in murder of Houston security officer
Houston TX Aug 24 2018 A man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a security guard in north Houston.
Courtney Chatmon, 20, is accused of shooting and killing Robert Marquez, 55, on June 9 while he was patrolling a neighborhood near Rushcreek and Ella.
Marquez, a 55-year-old licensed security guard, was seen approaching Chatmon, who then fired several shots and fled, police said.
On June 21, authorities released the license plate number of a car that fled the scene after the shooting. Chatmon was originally believed to be the passenger in that car.
