Trader Joe’s security detains woman who pepper sprayed store manager
Austin TX Aug 29 2018 Police say a woman pepper-sprayed a manager at the Trader Joe’s in Downtown Austin after she was told to leave.
According to the arrest affidavit, 47-year-old Lori Fisher is charged with Class A misdemeanor assault with injury.
It happened Friday, Aug. 24, at the Trader Joe’s located at 211 Walter Seaholm Drive.
Court documents say Fisher entered the store with luggage and began cursing at the security guard. After trying to calm her down, Fisher accused the guard of harassing her and continued to be verbally aggressive.
The guard told her she had to leave and then went to get the manager to inform him of the situation. The manager spoke to Fisher to see what the issue was, and she said the guard always harasses her when she walks in — and that he looked at his watch, which was part of the harassment towards her.
Fisher continued to be verbally aggressive, according to the affidavit, and the manager told her to leave. But when the manager attempted to take a photo of her with his cell phone for future identification purposes, Fisher pulled out a bottle of pepper spray and sprayed the manager in the face.
The security guard tackled Fisher and detained her until police arrived. Court documents said she had an outstanding warrant for harassment of a public servant.
