Elko County teacher arrested for alleged sexual conduct with 2 high school students
WELLS, Nev. June 9 2017 A 40-year-old Elko County teacher has been arrested on suspicion of sexual conduct with two high school students, according to the sheriff’s office.
Undersheriff Ron Supp said in a statement that Tennille Whitaker was arrested on Monday, June 5. She’s been charged with eight counts of sexual conduct between employee of school and pupil.
According to Supp, Whitaker is a teacher at Wells Elementary School in Wells.
She’s being held on $160,000 bail.
Both Supp and School Superintendent Jeff Zander say the investigation is ongoing. Zander added that Whitaker will be on administrative leave.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who might have more information in the case to contact the Detective Division at 777-2513.
