Shootings Leave 3 Security Officers In Critical Condition

During the past seventy-two hours, 23 security officers have been involved in lethal force incidents resulting in three security officers fighting for their lives.
Security officers in Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, California and five other states either were involved in a gunbattle or used a level of lethal force in confrontations.
Detroit Michigan police investigated an intense shoot-out between a security officer and would be Family Dollar store armed robbers Monday night.
One of the robbery suspects was fatally shot, another wounded and the security officer left in critical condition following the shootout Monday night at the discount store on Detroit’s west side, police said.
Two men entered the store near Schoolcraft and Ashton about 7:45 p.m. and demanded money from the cash register, said Sgt. Nicole Kirkwood, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.
They were met by the security officer confronted them and exchanged gunfire.
Authorities said Monday that the suspect, whom police did not identify, was pronounced dead. The 27-year-old security officer was hospitalized in critical condition.
The second suspect had fled in a burgundy Nissan Sentra. On Tuesday, authorities said about an hour after the shooting, a 26-year-old believed to be the second suspect, turned up at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. He was in custody as the investigation continues.
At an Orange County Florida bar called the “Happy Place Sports Bar”, armed security shot a man during an altercation. Sheriff deputies that that this is the second shooting by a security guard at this bar in less than two months.
A 55-year-old man was transported to an area hospital.
Deputies say that this is an open investigation.
At another bar, this one in Memphis Tennessee, five people including a security officer was shot during a disturbance over a social media post.
Police responded to the Purple Haze Night Club located just steps from historic Beale Street in downtown Memphis at around 3:25 am and found people shot inside the bar and outside in the parking area.
One of the men shot was a security officer who has been listed as in serious condition.
Memphis police say that they know who the shooter is and have obtained arrest warrants for him.
Shootings in two California cities have left a security officer in critical condition after he confronted a man breaking into a car. LASO deputies have a possible suspect in custody.
A Yonkers NY security officer was also stabbed over the week-end escorting a man causing a disturbance and fighting out of a movie theater. The security officer is listed as in good condition and the suspect is at large.
