Bayonne NJ Sept 29 2018
Bayonne police stopped Emanuel T. Sanchez, 28, of Bayonne, just before 3:15 a.m. after he drove through a red light in the area of West 22nd Street, Amato said.
Police smelled marijuana inside the vehicle leading to a search that turned up a .40 caliber handgun equipped with a large capacity magazine and various narcotics, Amato said.
Police determined Sanchez works as a security guard, but was not in possession of the licensing that is required for him to carry a firearm, Amato said.
He was also not in compliance with the regulations of transporting a lawfully possessed firearm in a vehicle, Amato added.
Emanuel was charged with three weapons offenses and two drug counts.
