KY teacher arrested for being drunk in classroom
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. October 30 2018 A Franklin County teacher was arrested on the job Friday for alcohol intoxication.
According to an arrest citation, Tamatha Bradley was arrested at Collins Lane Elementary. School staff reported to law enforcement that Bradley smelled of alcohol before 10 a.m. Friday and that she was unsteady on her feet while standing.
A school resource officer said she couldn’t answer questions and repeated random incoherent sentences.
The officer stated she pulled away from him as he tried to handcuff her and stated, “This is not happening. I’m not going.”
Bradley was booked at the Franklin Co Detention Center and has since bonded out. LEX 18 reached out to Franklin County Schools for comment. The superintendent sent this statement:
This is a personnel matter and is a pending investigation, therefore we will have no comment at this time. I want to be clear that in every circumstance, our highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of our students, and we will take whatever actions are necessary to ensure that each of our schools is a safe and effective learning environment
