Woman bites hospital security officer in the face
Johnstown PA November 2 2018
A Johnstown woman is accused of biting a security guard at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center after she voluntarily committed herself, authorities said.
Diandra Moena Hairston, 27, of Oakhurst Homes, waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday before District Judge Kevin Price, of Johns-town, and will appear in Cambria County court.
According to a criminal complaint, Hairston entered the Franklin Street hospital on Oct. 10 as a “voluntary commitment,” but refused to comply with the staff.
Hairston allegedly bit a security guard in the face and attempted to walk out. She allegedly then fought with a city police officer who arrived, the complaint said.
After police took her to the Public Safety Building on Washington Street, she allegedly attempted to kick an officer. She was then placed in a holding cell, where she allegedly undressed, attempted to vandalize the toilet and threatened to kill the officer’s family members.
Charges against Hairston include aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. She is being held in Cambria County Prison.
