Two underage men charged with attacking CT club bouncer
NORWALK CT June 15 2017 — Two underage men with fake identification were charged with assaulting a bouncer at a Washington Street bar early Wednesday morning, police said.
Police were called to Johnny Utah’s at 80 Washington St. shortly after midnight on a report of four men who were allegedly assaulting a bouncer there.
Witnesses told police that four males attacked the bouncer before a bar patron intervened, allowing the employee to contact police. The four men reportedly took off on foot.
Police say that witnessess identified Colin Decker, 19, as one of the men involved in the melee. Decker was detained by police, and the alleged victim positively identified him as one of his attackers, police said.
Another man, James Houldin, 20, was later found in the area of Water Street and was also detained.
The bouncer made a statement to police and said he was confronted by one of the men, who bumped him in the chest. When the bouncer put up an elbow in defense, the man threatened him with a lawsuit, police said.
Witnesses said that the four men then jumped on the bouncer and attacked him with fists while he was on the ground.
Police say that Decker and Houldin were in possession of fake ID’s. Those ID’s were seized and placed into evidence.
Decker, of Kenney Hill Road, New Preston, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree forgery. His bond was set at $1,500 and he was given a court date of June 23.
