Johnson City man faces burglary charges after Walmart thefts
JOHNSON CITY NY November 27 2018 The Johnson City Police Department arrested a man for burglary Thursday evening after having been previously banned from the store.
Johnson City Police say they charged 32-year-old Matthew Tilley, from Sidney, on three felony counts of burglary.
Police say Walmart store security observed Tilley take items from the store and exit without paying. Tilley was stopped by store security and returned to the security office where they learned he had previously been banned from the store, according to police.
Authorities say the stolen items were recovered.
The Johnson City Police say Tilley was arrested on November 6 and 11 for two burglary charges from Wegmans and JCPD detectives were investigating these incidents.
According to authorities, Tilley was taken to central arraignment and remanded to the Broome County Jail.
