Shots fired at Woodland Hills Mall security officer
Tulsa OK December 4 2018
Tulsa Police are on scene at Woodland Hills Mall, where shots were fired at a security guard, officers say.
According to investigators, no one injured, but a bullet struck the security guard’s vehicle.
TPD officers and K9 units are searching the area for the suspects who reportedly fled the scene westbound on 71st Street.
It all started with a disturbance in the mall about 8 p.m., and three young men were escorted out by security, according to TPD Sgt. Mark Watson.
Once outside, the boys split up, so security continued to keep an eye on them in the parking lot. Watson said one of the officers drove his vehicle around to a berm along 71st Street where one of the teens was standing. That’s when he pulled out a gun and fired three or four rounds at the security guard, hitting only his vehicle, Watson said.
According to mall officials, one of the boys had been previously banned from the property.
