Mobile mall security K9 team works together to end altercation
MOBILE, Ala. December 28 2018
Just recently, the mall security team at the The Shoppes at Bel Air introduced a new security K-9 team and on Monday, shoppers got to see the team in action.
Two men inside the mall were involved in a confrontation when security officers and the K-9 team responded.
A shopper shot a cell phone video from inside the mall which shows mall security’s new K9 team working together to put an end to an altercation.
Lamont Fagan posted the video publicly to his Facebook page on Monday night.
In the video, you can see two men walking and gesturing at one another as if they are about to fight.
Mall security, including K9 Kosmo, move in quickly. Shouting for the men to get on the ground.
Now, some shoppers who were there including Fagan say that having a police dog inside the mall is too much and unnecessary.
In the video, children are crying and some shoppers are scurrying away from the disturbance.
A mall spokesperson that the 3-year-old Dutch Shepherd, did not bite anyone and that the K9 team’s presence helped to end the situation quickly without someone getting hurt.
Police did not report any arrests in this incident.
