A man is in custody after a security guard was stabbed at a grocery store in Scarborough on Sunday evening.
Toronto police say that shortly before 8 p.m., a man tried to steal items from the store near Ellesmere Rd. and Victoria Park Ave. When he was stopped by the security guard, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him before fleeing the scene.

The guard received minor injuries. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and has returned to work, Toronto police Const. David Hopkinson told the Star.
