1 Person arrested in assault of PA. security officer
LOWER MERION PA Jan 19 2019 — Lower Merion police are investigating an apparently unprovoked and random attack on a security guard at the Green Hill Condominium at 1001 City Ave. in Wynnewood Jan. 9 at 12:03 p.m.
According to police, the incident began when the driver of a car with tinted windows approached the security gate off City Avenue. The driver refused to put the windows down for the guard to see if it was a resident.
Instead, the driver drove onto the sidewalk to bypass and drive around the security gate, according to police. The guard notified security as the driver drove into the parking lot. A few minutes later, the driver came back to the gate and stopped.
The unknown male driver then exited the car, walked up to the gate and punched the guard with a closed fist before getting back into the car and driving off, according to police. The guard suffered a hit to the face with a bloody nose.
