CVPH security guard injured while subduing suspect
PLATTSBURGH VT January 27 2019 — A Rouses Point man was charged with two felonies following an alleged altercation involving a pair of scissors at the hospital here.
City Police responded to University of Vermont Health Network, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital on Jan. 11 to a report of an assailant with a weapon.
The officers found Roger Trahan being held down by security, City Police Chief Levi Ritter said.
He was in possession of a pair of scissors and was extremely uncooperative and yelling, the chief said.
Trahan had assaulted one of the security guards, injuring the guard’s hand when he was attempting to prevent Trahan from attacking hospital staff, Ritter said.
And he allegedly resisted attempts to be taken into custody.
Trahan was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies; and second-degree menacing and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.
He was arraigned Jan. 11, according to Plattsburgh City Court, and was held in County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
Trahan posted bail and was released on Jan. 12.
He is due to reappear in court Feb. 20.
