Portland OR Jan 30 2019
A woman who allegedly brandished an “edged weapon” at a Market of Choice security guard has been arrested for first-degree robbery and delivery of methamphetamine, police say.
Yasmina Destinee Teal arrived in town one month ago from California, but the 25-year-old is now incarcerated at the downtown jail.
Portland Police stated that Teal tried to steal merchandise from Market of Choice, 1090 S.E. Belmont St., around 3:41 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27.
Police say Teal fled the store but was located in the neighborhood and was arrested.
“Officers also recovered evidence of the crime,” police say.
Teal, who has lived in the area before and was first convicted at age 14, has one felony conviction, seven misdemeanor convictions, 10 parole violations and three “failure to appear” charges on her record, according to a booking document.
She has been convicted of third-degree robbery, use of tear gas/mace, interfering with a police officer, possession of burglary tools and theft over the years.
