Man fires AK-47 at Nashville bar after street fight
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Feb 22 2019 Three people were taken into custody after shots were fired outside a Midtown bar early Wednesday morning.
It happened around 2:15 a.m. along Church Street near 18th Avenue North.
Metro police reported a fight happened in front of a nightclub and when security went to break it up, one of the people involved pulled out a long-barrel AK-47 and fired several shots into the air.
No one was hit and the suspects fled the scene, according to Metro police.
Metro police reported an undercover officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle on Murfreesboro Pike and followed the car until other officers could assist with initiating a traffic stop.
The car pulled over without incident near Wilhagan Road in South Nashville and three people inside were taken into custody.
They are expected to be charged with wanton endangerment, firing a gun in city limits and aggravated assault.
A man was shot and killed outside the same bar back in May 2018.
No additional information was immediately released.
