Man kills 7-11 store clerk using gun stolen from security guard
EL PASO, Texas February 23 2019 Police said Sharod Chavez Moore, 24, killed Arbin Iglesias, 25, during a robbery at an East El Paso 7-Eleven store on Wednesday.
Moore’s name was released by the El Paso Police Department on Friday afternoon.
Police added that Moore allegedly robbed a security guard of his gun the night before at the Sun Metro Transfer Center located at 1165 Sunmont.
The gun is believed to be the same weapon used during the robbery.
Moore shot himself following a pursuit by State Troopers near Junction, Texas, according to information released by El Paso Police and the Department of Public Safety.
Police had earlier said that Iglesias’ pick-up truck was stolen by the man who shot him. His body was found in the back of the store when police conducted a welfare check after a customer reported no one was in the store.
The store was blocked off with tape for hours following the discovery of Iglesias’ body.
