Oklahoma man arrested for trespassing, punching security guard’s dog
TULSA, Okla. Feb 28 2019 The Tulsa Police Department arrested a man early Tuesday morning after he trespassed and punched a security guard’s dog in the face.
Officers responded to a call for a disturbance around 1:15 a.m. They spoke to a security guard who said a man who is banned from the premises had trespassed.
The guard said he asked the suspect, Travis Laforge, to leave multiple times, but Laforge became physically and vocally confrontational.
Laforge “raised his hands in a combative way,” so the guard tried to use pepper spray on him.
Laforge said, “You want something to mace me about, there ya go [expletive],” as he walked to the guard’s vehicle and punched his three-year-old German Shepherd in the face.
The guard said his dog was standing up in the backseat with the window rolled down far enough for the dog to stick his head out. He said Laforge punched the canine so hard that the dog was knocked back and off the seat.
Medics treated Laforge since the guard used the pepper spray on him. Officers tried to talk to Laforge, but he ignored them and walked off, so they arrested him. Police said Laforge is a convicted felon.
He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail and is facing charges of cruelty to an animal, obstructing justice and trespassing after being forbidden.
