Oakland marijuana store security officer shot multiple times during robbery
OAKLAND CA March 11 2019 — A security guard was shot multiple times Saturday night during an apparent robbery at a marijuana related business in East Oakland, police said Sunday.
The 47-year-old guard was in serious but stable condition, police said. His name was not released.
The shooting was reported about 8:24 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of 23rd Avenue.
The business is a hydroponics store and also has marijuana on the property, authorities said. Police did not name the business.
The security guard apparently confronted at least two suspects trying to rob the business and was shot. Police did not say if the guard was armed.
Police said evidence at the scene indicated the suspects fled with some marijuana.
