Man arrested after firing shots at Georgia State Patrol Helicopter
BLYTHE, GA March 14 2019 The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says a man is facing charges after firing shots at a Georgia State Patrol Helicopter.
Investigators say it happened Tuesday morning around 8:00 am. The Sheriff’s Office along with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the department of community supervision and the Georgia State Patrol were executing an arrest warrant at a home on the 2400 block of Hoods Chapel Road in Blythe. The warrant service was being support by a GSP helicopter.
While on scene, shots were heard from across the street. Officers encountered 55 year old Terry Kielisch who stated he fired shots into the air at the helicopter. No injuries were reported but the helicopter did sustain damage.
Kielisch was arrested and is facing several charges including two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
