The names of the security officer and the man killed have not been released.
Charlotte NC The Charlotte Mecklneburg police are now taking a look at the number of rounds that was fired by a security guard during a credit union robbery on Monday.
Sources said that the armed guard confronted the men inside the lobby of the State Employee’s Credit Union Monday morning, firing several shots inside.
The security guard continued to fire as the suspects ran away and eventually emptied one magazine holding 16 bullets.
Detectives say that the first few rounds that the security officer fired may be reasonable but once the men began to run away, they were no longer a threat and that the security officer overreacted and put innocent people at risk by continuing to fire wildly in the parking lot of the credit union.
No arrests have been made, but the security guard could face criminal charges.
