Joliet man threatened to hit security guards at Harrah’s casino
Joliet IL March 24 2019 A Joliet man was arrested after threatening to hit security guards at Harrah’s casino and became agitated toward a parking valet, police said.
About 2 a.m. Tuesday, police officers went to Harrah’s casino at 151 N. Joliet St. after receiving a report of a man who was detained by security guards, Joliet police Sgt. Christopher Botzum said in an email.
Botzum said the officers determined that security guards asked Harry L. Flowers, 50, of the 200 block of Madison Street to leave the casino because he was intoxicated and loitering.
When Flowers was being escorted from the casino, he became belligerent and threatened to hit the security guards, Botzum said. Flowers then became agitated with a parking valet and walked in his direction, Botzum said.
Security guards stopped Flowers from approaching the parking valet, Botzum said.
Flowers then became upset with the security guards and took a stance that appeared as if he was going to attack them, Botzum said. The security guards took Flowers to the ground and detained him until Joliet police officers arrived, he said.
Botzum said Flowers hit his head on the sidewalk when he was taken to the ground by the security guards. Paramedics from the Joliet Fire Department treated his injury.
Flowers was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. He was released on his own recognizance.
