Huntley IL April 4 2019 An alleged dispute between two Huntley Community School District 158 security aides resulted in a misdemeanor battery charge against one man, who police say pushed another security officer at the high school.

Joel Bosman, 43, of the 10300 block of Ashley Street in Huntley, was arrested March 6 in connection with an alleged altercation involving another Huntley High School security aide, according to police reports. It’s unclear whether Bosman has continued to work at the school while the charges against him are pending.

Huntley police were called to the high school at 6:29 p.m. March 6 for a delayed report of a battery, according to police reports. The alleged victim, a 58-year-old security officer at the high school, told police that he would file a complaint and wanted the matter investigated.

Officers arrested Bosman at Huntley High School on a single misdemeanor count of battery. Misdemeanor offenses generally result in less than one year in jail.

Bosman was working when police arrested him, reports show. Dean of Students Thomas Kempf called Bosman to the student services area conference room, where officers told him he was under arrest.

Police searched Bosman and transported him to the Huntley Police Department. Bosman posted $150 bail and was released. He’s due back in court April 12.

District 158 could not be reached for comment.
