Man arrested for threatening security officer with knife at Franklin Woods ER
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. April 14 2019 Johnson City police have arrested a man they said threatened a security officer inside a local emergency room Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the Franklin Woods Hospital ER around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday where there were reports of a man threatening a security officer with a knife.
JCPD officers report they found 31-year-old Matthew Shell of Unicoi at the emergency room entrance holding a knife and threatening the security officer.
According to police Shell would not drop the knife and was ultimately tased by officers.
Other than a small cut to Shell’s face, no other injuries were reported.
Shell is being held at the Washington County Detention Center under a $25,00 bond on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
He’s due in Court on Thursday.
