Brinks armored truck hit head on in crash
California July 15 2017 A three vehicle accident Wednesday involving a Brinks armored truck, a Jeep and a Toyota on Highway 20 resulted in minor injuries according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported at approximately 8:45 a.m. they received reports of the wreck at Highway 20 at mile marker 23. CHP units and fire and rescue personnel were immediately sent to the scene.
At mile post marker 24.30, officers confirmed the crash involved the Brinks armored car, a 2017 Jeep Patriot and a Toyota Cion.
The Jeep Patriot was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 through a curve at a high rate of speed when it lost control and crossed the center double yellow lines, striking the westbound armored truck head-on.
The collision resulted in the truck spinning and hitting the Cion which was traveling eastbound behind the Jeep.
All drivers received some injuries and the the driver of the Cion, Don Lois Vanmeter Jr, and the passenger of the Jeep Patriot, Liesel Magnoson, were taken to Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits after complaint of pain, according to Ukiah CHP officer Haddad.
