Bail bondsmen critically injured in Moss Point MS. shooting identified

Police have identified the two bail agents critically injured in a Moss Point shooting on May 28.
Charles Foster, 44, and Sandra Roson, 52, of Mobile, are now in stable condition after moving from Singing River Hospital to UMMC in Jackson for surgery, according to Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley.
The shooting prompted prayers and support from the Professional Bail Agents of the United States.
Beth Chapman, president of the group and wife of legendary bounty hunter, Duane “Dog” Chapman of A&E’s “Dog The Bounty Hunter,” said working as a bail agent has become more dangerous.
“Our hearts go out to the families of loved ones of two of our colleagues,” Beth Chapman said in a statement. “Violence directed at bail bondmen and women is more and more common, making this is a very dangerous job that should not be taken for granted. The safety of agents in the field is paramount to me and the members of our organization, and we must be vigilant at all times to protect each other and our communities.”
Chapman said attempts at so-called “bail reform” over the years has caused crime rates to rise, resulting in more danger for bail agents on the streets.
Foster and Roson were shot multiple times Tuesday night while they were attempting to serve a fugitive warrant in Moss Point.
The pair, both employed by a Mississippi bond recovery company, suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Police got the call about shots fired in the area of Frederick and Colleen streets around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Police Chief Brandon Ashley said the two agents were shot while they were in the parking lot of Olivet Baptist Church, Ashley said.
The suspects were in a blue older model 4-door sedan with chrome rims.
