Five charged after organized retail crime ring investigation in Horry County
MYRTLE BEACH, SC June 6 2019 Five people now face charges following an investigation into an organized retail crime ring in Horry County.
Investigators with the Myrtle Beach Police Department along with the Horry County Police Department and the ATF Task Force began the investigation.
Investigators secured a warrant for a home in the Conway section of Horry County. While executing the search warrant, many stolen items were recovered.
Those items included:
New merchandise valued at about $24,000
Nine rifles
Seven shotguns
Kawasaki side-by-side ATV
John Deere Zero-Turn Mower
Honda ATV
E-Z-Go Golf Cart
Seven trailers
The items have been linked to previously reported thefts.
The following people now face charges in connection with the cases:
Bryant Leshaun Moses, 39, of Conway: three counts of shoplifting (less than $2,000, enhanced)
Phillip Jerome Huggins, 30, of Conway: one count of shoplifting (more than $2,000) and four counts of shoplifting (less than $2,000)
Jermaih Quantrell Huggins, 29, of Conway: one count of shoplifting (less than $2,000, enhanced)
Cynthia Lynette Haskins, 32, of Conway: six counts of shoplifting (less than $2,000, enhanced)
Miranda Lee Costello, 19, of Myrtle Beach: four counts of shoplifting (less than $2,000, enhanced)
Chief Amy Prock with the Myrtle Beach Police Department said, “This type of criminal activity can be very difficult to investigate.
It is apparent in this case that our law enforcement partners, our local businesses, and our community members all worked together for a successful outcome.”
