21-year-old man charged with rape on Elizabethtown College campus
Elizabethtown, PA June 23 2019
A 21-year-old man staying in international housing on Elizabethtown College’s campus was charged with raping and sexually assaulting a female Thursday, according to police.
Alexis John Javier Dolotina, who is from the Philippines, allegedly assaulted the female around 1 p.m. at the Schreiber Quadrangle, on-campus housing, police said in charging documents.
Dolotina faces felony counts of rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault without consent and aggravated indecent assault with forcible compulsion. He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault, according to court documents.
According to the police affidavit, Dolotina was an international resident staying on the campus.
Police said that the international work-travel program rents space from the college and that Dolotina and the female are not students at Elizabethtown.
“We are deeply saddened about the incident that took place on our campus yesterday,” Elizabethtown College spokeswoman Keri Straub said.
Straub added that Dolotina was immediately removed from campus and that, “safety and security of every visitor on our campus is our top priority.”
Dolotina is in Lancaster County prison after failing to post $500,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 2.
