Woman assaulted hospital staff for second time
Johnstown PA June 27 2019
A South Fork woman was jailed on Tuesday, accused of assaulting an employee at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center about two weeks after being charged with the same crime, authorities said.
Johnstown police charged Claudia Law, 65, of the 300 block of Main Street, with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
According to a criminal complaint, police said they were called to the Good Samaritan building on Franklin Street at 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Law allegedly screamed vulgarities at an employee, spit in her face and then punched her in the arm, the complaint said.
She was arraigned by on-call District Judge Mary Ann Zanghi, of Vinco, and sent to Cambria County Prison after failing to post 10% of $5,000 bond.
City police had charged Law on June 11 with aggravated assault after she struck a nurse.
Hospital security told police that Law had been a patient several times that day and was discharged multiple times but kept returning to the hospital.
