Seattle security officer fired upon
Seattle WA June 28 2019 Police are investigating after three gunmen opened fire on a security guard’s empty vehicle late Tuesday evening on First Hill.
At 10:39 pm, police received multiple reports of gunfire in the 1000 block of James Street.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a grey Dodge Charger, belonging to a private security company, which had been damaged by gunfire.
Police say the security guard pulled his vehicle into the alleyway and got out of his car to move a mattress which was blocking his path.
“As he was outside of the car, three gunmen opened fire from both ends of the alley, striking his vehicle,” police write.
A witness told CHS that police had been called earlier around 10 PM to remove a homeless person who had reportedly put a bunch of garbage and a mattress in front of the garage entrance.
Seattle Fire was called to deal with the spilling fuel. A window of the apartment building was also reported shot out.
Police were searching the area for the shooter vehicle and at least one other possibly involved car and had images from the incident to help identify the suspects.
No immediate arrests were reported.
There were no reported significant injuries.
