International theft ring arrested in Tennessee

Five felony suspects, all accused of being part of an international theft ring with ties to Romania, remain jailed after their arrest last week.
On June 18, Franklin Police were dispatched to a local fitness center where someone was reportedly breaking into lockers and stealing credit cards. The suspect eluded capture and the stolen cards were quickly used to rack up more than $15,000 in charges at several Cool Springs area retailers.
Police officers from Franklin and Brentwood quickly obtained video of the suspects and their vehicle. Moments later, a Brentwood Police officer spotted and stopped the car on Moores Lane. Working together, Franklin and Brentwood Police quickly recognized two of the occupants as suspects being sought in connection to similar crimes in April.
More than $100,000 in stolen property and merchandise from across the country was recovered from the suspect vehicle. Additional charges by Franklin Police and police agencies from across the United States are expected.
