Private Security Business Owners Sentenced To Probation, Fined For Running Company Without Workers’ Compensation Insurance
SALINAS CA July 2 2019
The owners of a private security business have been sentenced to three years of probation and have been ordered to pay $10,000 each in criminal penalties for running their business without workers’ compensation insurance, Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine Pacioni announced Friday.
Angel Musones, 51, of Salinas, and Navid Homami, 45, of Monterey, pled no contest on June 26 to operating Mile High Security without worker’s compensation insurance.
Prosecutors said Mile High Security, LLC advertised and operated as a private patrol operator, but didn’t possess a valid license.
An investigation into the company was opened in December 2018. The company started doing business in September 2018.
Musones and Homami confirmed to investigators they had as many as eight security guards employed, but did not have workers’ compensation insurance, prosecutors said.
