Memphis school security officer assaulted, woman jailed

A school security officer was assaulted, and police have charged a woman in that incident.
Police say the assault happened around 5:20pm Friday in the 4800 block of Elvis Presley Boulevard in Whitehaven.
They say a woman and three juveniles assaulted the officer and then took off in a green car.
Southaven Police were contacted and followed the car to the area of Millbranch and Kilarney, where the suspect’s car crashed and caught fire.
Audrell Qualls, 32, is charged with aggravated assault, child abuse and neglect, driving while license suspended/revoked/cancel, evading arrest, reckless driving, and violation of financial law (driving without proof of insurance).
She’s currently being held in the Shelby County Jail with no bond.
No one was injured in the car crash. The condition of the security officer was not released.
