Chattanooga man arrested for pointing gun at security officer
Chattanooga TN August 7 2019
A man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly pulled a gun on a security guard outside downtown Chattanooga nightclub Coyote Jacks, according to Hamilton County court records.
Chattanooga police had been on foot patrol at Coyote Jack’s around 1 a.m. Saturday when they saw three men running out of the bar being chased by a security guard, court records state.
The guard told police that a man identified as Jewone Colvin, 26, had been in a fight inside the bar. The guard said he broke up the fight, which is when Colvin ran outside to his vehicle and pulled out a handgun from the trunk.
The guard told police he was “in fear for his life as soon as Mr. Colvin turn with the gun” so the guard pulled his own weapon and told Colvin “to get on the ground.”
That’s when Colvin threw the gun under a vehicle, the guard told police.
Police did find a gun under a vehicle. Another gun was found in the same vehicle from which Colvin retrieved the first one.
Two other people were detained but not charged.
Colvin was charged with aggravated assault, theft under $500 and disorderly conduct. He was taken to the Hamilton County Jail where his bond was set at $100,000, according to online court records.
One week earlier, on July 28, two men were arrested just outside the bar for being in possession of a gun and marijuana for resale, court records show.
