Sutton Bridge Parish employ’s security firm to patrol key village locations
Sutton Bridge Parish England Aug 12 2019
A parish council is extending its contract with a security firm to patrol key village locations for a further three months at a cost of £1,200.
A three-month trial has just come to an end.
Sutton Bridge Parish Council clerk Robert Smith told councillors it was difficult to assess the effectiveness of the patrols so far, adding “however there is a general feeling that things have improved”.

He said the firm had recently moved on a group of people who were drinking and smoking in the burial ground.
Councillors heard patrols take place over four days a week but they can happen at any time.
Coun Michael Booth asked: “So we are looking at another £1,200, are we?”
Councillors have commented on drug-dealing and anti-social behaviour at the back of The Curlew Centre, in Bridge Road, and one member, Coun Gavin Ebbs, believes the area is a draw because there is easy access to the centre’s WiFi with codes for two systems being widely known.
