Alabama nightclub security guard fatally shoots woman who shot a female customer

A woman was shot and killed by a security guard outside a Selma club Sunday morning after witnesses say she shot another woman first.
Selma police responded at 1:09 a.m. to Small Street Inn pub on Anderson Avenue, according to Interim Selma Police Chief Robert Green.
When officers arrived at the club, witnesses told them a 39-year-old black female was shooting at a 23-year black female in front of the club.
The names of the women have not yet been released.
The security guard, Green said, witnessed the shooting and fired at the woman with the gun, striking the suspect in the hip and lower torso.
She was taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.
The initial victim sustained a gunshot wound to her right arm. She also was taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Baptist South in Montgomery.
The chief said the security officer was detained and later released.
The case is still under investigation by the Selma Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
