School security guard arrested for soliciting child for sex
PROVIDENCE, RI Aug 18 2019 A security guard employed at The Providence Center School has been arrested for soliciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
State Police say Anthony Padula, 62, of West Warwick was taken into custody after he solicited whom he believed to be a 14-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity.
Padula was taken into custody at a prearranged location where he thought he was meeting the boy for sex, police say.
State police say there is no evidence that any student at the Providence Center School has been solicited by Padula for sex.
Padula was special arraigned at the State Police Wickford Barracks and released on $5,000 personal recognizance.
He is due back in court on Aug. 22 at Warwick District Court.
