Man accused of placing fake rice cooker bombs in subway held on $200K bond
New York City NY Aug 20 2019
The West Virginia man who allegedly incited a bomb panic by scattering a pair of rice cookers in the Fulton Street subway station Friday was ordered held on $200,000 bond following his arraignment Sunday.
Larry Griffin II, 26, was charged with making a false bomb and placing of a false bomb — both felonies — for the incident, which led cops to temporarily shut down the busy subway station Friday.
Cops later realized they were not bombs.
Griffin was also arrested as a fugitive from justice — though the Manhattan District Attorney’s office did not answer questions about the arrest.
The NYPD said it had no details about that case, and the FBI did not immediately respond to inquiries.
Griffin has an ongoing criminal case in West Virginia for allegedly sending a bestiality video to a minor.
His lawyer, Michael Croce, did not respond to requests for comment.
