Trinidad Aug 23 2019 A security guard was shot in the face dur­ing an ar­gument with a man on Tues­day morn­ing while at El Do­ra­do.

Accord­ing to a po­lice re­port, the 38-year-old officer was in the company with an­other security guard at a bar, along Wilkin­son Street at about 1.20 am when they got in­to an argument with a man. The man then left the scene in a Nis­san Ti­i­da.

However, af­ter a few minutes, the said man was seen walk­ing up the street to­wards both security guards.

When he was close enough to them, he pulled out a firearm and opened fire at the officers, He then ran away.

One of the officers was shot in the left side of the face. The oth­er of­fi­cer es­caped un­hurt.

The wound­ed officer was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex in Mt Hope where he was treat­ed and dis­charged.

Police recovered four spent shells on the scene.

Investigations are continuing.
